About the film

Eight-year-old Cedric lives with his widowed mother, a music teacher, in a small nineteenth-century American town, well liked for his kindness and his sense of fairness. When he learns that an elderly earl living on a grand English estate keeps a portrait identical to one in his mother's home, Cedric's journey toward his own family history begins. This is a Russian television adaptation of Frances Hodgson Burnett's novel Little Lord Fauntleroy; released in Russian as Радости и печали маленького лорда. Editorial note: the real film's English title concerns a "little lord", not a "little prince" — the record has been corrected here accordingly. No poster for this title has yet been located in the Foundation's archive.
